Managing a house from a distance

I got bad news from home today. The refrigerator compressor seems to be going out or might already be shot. That fridge is not even 4 years old. It was installed the day before my brother's funeral back in December 2001. So much for Maytag's "lonely repairman" ads. To save money, I didn't take out the extended warranty, so now I'm screwed.

My son also said my ancient (purchased 10/2000) computer is frying. The power supply is burning up. He's going to try to fix that, though.

Last month, I had to pay almost $200 to repair a pool pump, and the month before that it was the same story . . . another $200 to repair a different pool pump.

I need to sell that house and everything in it . . .
